A Female Hero, inspired in cartoon characters, identities, and stereotypes of the feminine figure: the Incog Super-Artist appears in our nights as a simulacrum of the strength and relevance of Women, as well as of the mysterious power of Art.

Having in mind that Women are in the center of the socialization and cultural intercourse processes, through children education, I consider the female figure not only as mother-educator and family basis, but also as it became a powerful figure in the religious, erotic and advertising realms.

“À prova de fogo e de bala” (Fire and bullet proof) tries to focus on the female figure as a complex socio-cultural construction. A figure that allow us to think the role that woman’s images play in identity construction, exchange and cultural production.

By this means, I chose to construct the whole conceptual development of this project based on the figure of the female super-hero – comics character usually created by and to a male universe – recreating it based on the female perspective, body and life experience. This project also plays with the stereotyped connotations usually associated with female features.
