In the seminar room of an hotel, a Committee meets to discuss a “Plan of Action”. The Executive Committee (the company) hosts the other members of the Committee (the spectators) to the delicate mission of presenting in a convincing way this “Plan”, based on the “Strategic Plan” previously elaborated and approved. The goal is to get the larger number of votes. Throughout the meeting charts are shown, paperwork overlaps, and complicated jargon is debated. The doubt about the skills and honesty increasingly grow as the meeting proceeds.

This humorous Committee, premiered at FITEI 2010, questions, re:producing and re:creating, the language applied by politicians as a device of power. This project is the other side of the show “Boom & Bang”, which approaches the circumstances that lead to the current financial crises, and lead us to think about a number of “Plans of Action” which spreads all around Europe, to the despair of the common citizen. The Company Visões Úteis dresses in business attire to offer us a “politically useful perspective” on the complex decision-making processes of contemporary society. Will this Committee be able to gather general consensus?

Visões Úteis come from OPorto, having more than fifteen years of crossing current concerns with contemporary performative languages. As professional theater company, they have been developing projects outside the usual modes of theatrical representation, proposing new partnership formats to institutions, trying to involve private institutions in their creations.
